8. Get peer support from other maintainers

It can be enormously helpful to have regular contact with other people who are also trying to keep the weight off. To help you keep on track with your weight maintenance, as well as your dieting, find us on Facebook, where you can get support and ideas from other maintainers.

What happens if my weight creeps back up again?

If you start to notice your weight is increasing, keep a close eye on it. Weight can vary from day to day by as much as 2–4 lb (1–1.8 kg), but if you notice a gradual increase over three or four weeks, then you need to take action straight away. It’s relatively easy to shed a few extra pounds, but when that turns into 7 lb (3 kg), it becomes much more difficult. If the weight gain is literally just a pound or two (0.5–1 kg) and you want to get rid of it, check and adjust your diet over the next few weeks and increase your exercise. If you have regained more than this, you should go back on The 2-Day Diet for a few weeks, until you have lost the regained weight—and then go immediately back to The 1-Day Maintenance Diet.
